If you have been walking by The Deck Cafe & Bar at Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Day Spa lately, you may have noticed our quirky chalkboard sayings such as “Beer….It Makes Things Not Suck.” While we would love to take the credit for these, we can’t, they are the work of our creative and wonderful staff member, Loxy! With a tremendous amount of pride for him, Loxy is one of those staff who you know will be with you for the long haul, a natural leader, fast learner, with the most positive attitude and plenty of charm for all of our guests. Born and raised in Jungut Batu Village, Loxy spent four years living in Noosa, Australia while he finished his formal education. Before moving to Australia, Loxy was a surf instructor on Nusa Lembongan, making his way through the waves and being a carefree teenager. But when his time in Australia came to a close and his instinct was telling him to come back home and be with his family again, Loxy decided it was time for his professional development and get a job where he can grow. Wanting to move up through the ranks into hotel management, Loxy approached the Batu Karang family and we got him, and sure glad we did. Loxy has quickly been embraced by the staff family, and he says he loves his job at The Deck mostly because of all the learning he does, the staff vibe, the view, and for how everyone welcomed him in so quickly. While he misses his favourite surf break in Noosa Head, his Australian family, Coolum Beach, & his Sunshine Beach High School, he is happy to be home tearing it up on his favourite surf break in the world, Lacerations. In his free time if he is not surfing, Loxy is busy drawing, spending time with his sisters whom he is very close to, or saving for his next trip, maybe even one day back to Australia.
