Every once in a while, you get a staff member with that “je ne said quoi,” and this is The Deck Cafe & Bar at Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Day Spa’s Ayu. With the Batu Karang family for still less than a year, Ayu comes from Karangasem, Bali. While most of our staff were born & raised island-locally, Ayu brings a different dimension from the team as she comes from the mainland of Bali. Originally brought on to the team as a waitress, it didn’t take long for her first promotion to waitress captain, and with her eyes on the prize of being a manager, we are sure it will not take long to fulfil her independent lady career goals. Ayu also doubles her skills down at The Howff Whisky, Gin, & Wine Bar, and is the first girl on our team to start learning how to bartend – she can show of few of the boys a thing or two! So why did she decide to move away from her family and pursue her dreams? She wanted a new experience on her own, somewhere with no malls, no traffic, no noise. She describes Nusa Lembongan as, “maybe it’s paradise….” Ahhhhhh. Hoping to one day travel to Singapore, Ayu loves working at The Deck & The Howff because of her new friends, the Owners & Management, and being able to have a new life adventure. We couldn’t be happier to have “The Quick One” by her team, and when you visit us you will see what we mean too, we look forward to it!
